Winner of the Coppa Volpi for Best Actor (Stefano Accorsi) at the Venice International Film Festival 2002
Un Viaggio Chiamato Amore recounts the life and scandalous love affair of two famous Italian writers in the early 20th century, Sibilla Aleramo and Dino Campana. Sibilla's mother committed suicide when she was in her teens; her violent and miserly husband forced her to abandon her beloved child. All should have served to make this woman fragile and confused instead of the charming and independent 40 something that she becomes. Living and working in Florence, Sibilla drifts in and out of intense but brief sentimental relationships before finally meeting the much younger writer and poet Dino Campana. The ensuing spark between them gives way to a consuming fire that will brand their lives forever.
